UPS just delivered my Sephora shipment!
OK… So, I knew I loved Benefit’s products and I had already tried their High Beam, thanks to a ‘girls night’ with my girls, Sami and Carly. But, nothing could prepare me for Bella Bamba blush. I figured the highlight of the order would be the itty bitty and adorable bottles of High Beam (one for Sami and one for me. :) ). Then, I met Bella Bamba. Described as a “watermelon pink” shade, it’s just the right amount of color for most complexions- fair to bold, it is easily buildable, and goes on like silk. The box is uber-cute, too!
All in all, today’s shipment did not disappoint. I ordered (and received) two Benefit value kits: Finding Mr. Bright and The Pretty Committee, a mini bonus treat and numerous samples.
Finding Mr. Bright contains the most eensy, weensy, tiny, tiny allotments of High Beam and Erase Paste (in medium- too dark for me now, but may be OK over the summer) along with small travel sizes of Girl Meets Pearl, and Posie Tint (Can’t wait to try this one out!). It wasn’t a perfect purchase, but for $28.00 or so, I cannot complain too much. It’s a good opportunity to try out a couple of Benefit products that I have been interested in.
The Pretty Committee is brand new- I believe I ordered it the first day it was available. Stashed in a stylish mesh zippered bag, this value set contains Bella Bamba blusher, Eye Bright, High Beam and Stay, Don’t Stray eyeshadow and concealer primer. I usually don’t go crazy over the bags on these value sets (although I have a bad habit of hoarding them). However, this one is a great size and so pretty! For just $38.00, The Pretty Committee set contains a great selection of ample sized products that will see lots of use in my makeup routine. I’m quite pleased. And, did I mention that I love Bella Bamba? Just checking.
I cashed in on my 100 point perk from Sephora to try out a mini Benefit BADgal Lash mascara. Because I zipped out of the house so early this AM, sans makeup (gasp!), I tried this out as soon as I opened the shipment. One coat makes my lashes naturally prounounced and my eyes look much more alive (although some of that could be due to the excitement of receiving packages in the mail… Don’t we all love that!?!), I’m going to have to play around with this mascara for a bit, but I suspect I’ll be picking up the full size pretty soon to add to my collection. I am a mascara addict and it’s getting to be time to replace some of my older ones.
Other samples received were Dior’s j’adore and Thierry Mugler’s Womanity fragrances. I’ve become more of a fragrance junkie lately and cannot afford to like these. My pocketbook can’t withstand the blow inflicted by a perfume purchase. but… but….
Lastly, I received a single packet of Philosophy’s “Hope in a Jar”. I already know I like this product. I also know I cannot afford to purchase more skincare products right now. So, I’ll tuck this one in my travel bag for a mid-desert road trip refresh. Sephora also shipped deluxe samples of Ojon Damage Reverse shampoo, conditioner, and two packs of restorative hair treatments. Not sure when I’ll use these, but I’m thinking I need to do an in-home ‘spa night’ pretty soon.
